Cadbury Heath Primary

RISE Alliance

RISE Alliance is a partnership of 5 local schools: Cadbury Heath Primary School, Redfield Edge Primary School, Longwell Green Primary School, Courtney Primary School and New Horizons School.

Relationships with RISE partner schools are used effectively to strengthen school improvement. Head Teachers and senior managers have benchmarked performance judgements to ensure they are accurate and evidence based.

Best practice networks have been established for Governors, Computing, Maths, English, Assessment, Family Support Mentors and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEN/D) as well as administration and office functions. The network ensures that RISE schools receive high quality input from external agencies; a number of whom are working directly with the department for education (DFE), enabling each school’s practice to develop successfully.

RISE has also developed strong cluster groups for the Head Teachers, Deputy Heads, SENCOs and teachers in each year group. This has enabled good practice to be shared. An example of this is the Early Years group who have helped develop preschools’ understanding of school readiness, worked together on the 2Simple assessment package and benchmarked on entry judgements against the Early Years Profile.

RISE support staff have also worked together successfully. School business managers have explored joint procurement and, as a result, have saved money through collective tendering.  Family Link workers have developed new ways to help parents and carers support their children.  Some of the more effective practices have been shared with schools outside RISE that require improvement.

Through our collaborative partnership, pupils at the seven Alliance schools have seen a direct and measureable improvement in the educational offered. Interschool sports, dance and singing festivals and football and netball networks are now taking place.
